Warm Up Texas

As if the state of the country wasn't in enough turmoil, mother nature is creating so much chaos and despair.   You want to help, and other then sending money and positive energy & thoughts, there isn't much more one can do, if you are not close by to help.   Thankfully yesterday a notice came from Knitting Universe about their efforts to help out.   Fundraising for Houston Food Bank and also supporting Warm Up America to distribute blankets.    Here's the link   to Stitches West fundraising info.

More Blankets--Lucille Packard Children's Hospital @Stanford

It feels wonderful to give to others.   I have been fortunate in getting the very best of care at Stanford Hospital and it was the small touches that gave me more strength in my healing.   Nurses and assistants who listened and showed they cared,  that beautiful stone heart and the confidence of my surgeon .. making these blankets is my way of saying thank you... plus I get to play with so many colors and designs...  fun, fun, fun...

A little doll with Love

So for something different,  I friend was in search of a doll for a friend.  This doll was a replacement for a torn and worn doll, much loved and needed.   I found a Weir Doll kit and here's the result.

More Love

You may have heard of the fires in Northern California last summer (2015).  It was devastating for the entire community affected by this storm of fire.   Some parts of a neighborhood would be burned away on one side of the street, and the homes on the other side of the street were perfectly fine.  It was amazing.  I can not imagine what it would be like if someone knocked at my door and said you have a minute to get out.     The community around Cobb and Middletown rallied together to help those homeless, to help the animals and the children.    it's devastating to lose everything. One of the efforts that was made was to make quilts for the children.   The goal was to collect 400 quilts to give to pre-K through second grade.   Well  the community came together and quilts came in from all over the country.  860 quilts were donated .  The quilts were brought to the local schools before Christmas, and the children had the opportunity to pick out that they wanted .

Sharing the love.
